Biography

Dave Zygielbaum is a seasoned trial attorney with over 20 years of experience in courtroom advocacy and public service. A significant portion of his practice is dedicated to holding individuals and institutions accountable for serious misconduct, specifically in cases involving sexual violence and assault, elder abuse, and crimes against children.

Before entering private practice, Dave served for nearly 17 years as a Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles County. During his extensive tenure in the Complex Child Abuse Section, he prosecuted high-stakes cases involving homicide and systemic neglect. This deep investigative background gives him a rare ability to navigate the complexities of institutional liability, including claims against school districts, healthcare providers, and government agencies. He is particularly skilled at identifying how abuse is concealed and where compliance and reporting systems fail.

Beyond the courtroom, Dave serves as an elected Trustee of the Torrance Unified School District Board of Education. In this role, he oversees governance, fiduciary responsibility, and regulatory compliance for a major public institution. This firsthand experience provides him with a unique “insider” perspective on how public entities operate, allowing him to litigate matters of negligent supervision and systemic risk management with unmatched precision.

Known for his disciplined preparation and ethical judgment, Dave handles matters of profound trauma with both strength and compassion. He is a trusted advocate for clients facing powerful institutions, focused on achieving justice through clear, trial-tested advocacy.
