This year's theme, "One World, Many Flavors: Connecting Through Food and Philanthropy," perfectly encapsulates the spirit of unity and support that drives WLALA Foundation's mission. The event will be held at Flavors from Afar in East Hollywood, a remarkable woman-owned culinary hub that shares global flavors and fosters cultural exchange through meals crafted by former refugees and asylum seekers.
WLALApalooza aims to raise $30,000 to build a deeper bench of women in the law and improve the status of women in society. It directly supports:
Scholarships and fellowships for public interest law students and high school students.
The Beverly Reid O’Connell Power Lunch program, offering high school students civic education, judicial mentorship, and judicial branch exposure.
Vital community organizations, including the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law, the Downtown Women’s Center homeless shelter, Inner City Law Center, Sojourn Domestic Violence Services, and the LA Food Bank’s Food from the Bar program.
