Jessica B. King
SENIOR COUNSEL
Jessica B. King, Senior Counsel, brings a wealth of experience to Parker Shaffie LLP, having joined the firm in 2025. A seasoned litigator and trial attorney, Ms. King's practice encompasses a broad range of complex civil litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants.
Her primary focus lies in professional liability, with particular expertise in legal malpractice, as well as matters involving insurance brokers, escrow companies, and other business professionals. Ms. King also handles sophisticated business disputes, including breach of contract, unfair competition, trade secret misappropriation, and the enforcement of non-solicitation and non-competition agreements. Her practice further extends to insurance coverage, employment law (including wrongful termination, retaliation, harassment, and wage disputes), and tort matters, including sensitive cases involving sexual molestation.
Ms. King’s litigation acumen is built upon a strong foundation. During law school, she clerked for a prominent Los Angeles plaintiff personal injury firm, where she honed her legal research, writing, and motion practice skills, notably achieving a successful opposition to a motion for summary judgment. Following her licensure, she contributed to significant recoveries for severely injured clients at a well-regarded plaintiff personal injury firm.
Prior to re-entering civil litigation in 2020, Ms. King served as a Deputy District Attorney in Colorado, where she prosecuted and tried numerous misdemeanor and felony cases to verdict, demonstrating her exceptional trial advocacy.
Before joining Parker Shaffie LLP, Ms. King was a partner at two business litigation firms, where she managed high-stakes caseloads involving complex, multi-million dollar legal malpractice claims, shareholder disputes, trade secret misappropriation, and diverse employment matters. She also provided strategic counsel to financial broker-dealer entities and their advisors on contractual non-competition and non-solicitation obligations across California and Colorado.
Ms. King approaches every case with an eye toward early resolution by developing intelligent solutions to resolve disputes. In addition to her written and oral advocacy skills, she takes pride in her work to develop and maintain cordial relationships with all stakeholders, particularly opposing counsel, to the benefit of her clients. She is licensed to practice and available to assist clients in California, Colorado, and Arizona, as well as several federal district courts. She regularly enters into joint ventures with other law firms and welcomes invitations to collaborate.
