Megan Ortiz

ATTORNEY

Megan Ortiz joined Parker Shaffie LLP in August 2024. Prior to joining Parker Shaffie, Ms. Ortiz primarily practiced in the insurance defense field where she represented major corporations and individuals in matters involving labor and employment, tort and catastrophic loss, and professional liability. Ms. Ortiz also has experience in business law and litigation specializing in the issuance and transfer of liquor licenses from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, as well as complex civil litigation matters in the areas of land use and real estate, administrative law, and premises liability. Before entering the civil litigation field, she worked at the Orange County District Attorney’s Office within the T.A.R.G.E.T. Gang Unit.

Ms. Ortiz obtained her Juris Doctor from Western State College of Law where she received a Business Law Practice Certificate and an award for academic excellence in Business Law Ethics. During her time at Western State, Ms. Ortiz also served as the Business Editor of the Western State Law Review. Outside of the legal field, Ms. Ortiz has significant experience working as an entertainment and corporate travel agent.

In her spare time, Ms. Ortiz enjoys baking, practicing yoga, stand-up paddleboarding, and painting.
