Parker Shaffie LLP Law Clerk Ibrahim Ati Serves as Arbitrator at Recent Pre-Moot Rounds Held By University of San Diego School of Law
Ibrahim Ati, a law clerk from our firm recently had the honor of serving as an arbitrator at the recent pre-moot rounds held by the University of San Diego School of Law in preparation for the upcoming 30th Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.
Ibrahim had this to say about the experience, “It was truly a privilege to arbitrate the claims presented by the exceptional teams from the University of Washington, University of Düsseldorf, Universität Passau and the home team.
As a newcomer to the field, I was humbled by the opportunity to learn from experienced co-arbitrators and perceive the case from the perspective of an international arbitrator.
This experience has further strengthened my commitment to supporting the growth and success of the next generation. Our legal backgrounds are as unique and varied as the individuals who possess them. By acknowledging and embracing this diversity, we can spark innovation and fresh thinking in the field of arbitration.
With excitement, I want to remind everyone of the upcoming California Arbitration (CalArb) Week in March 2023, which will take place in Downtown Los Angeles. Join me in enhancing the field of arbitration and discovering new ways to approach disputes.
I would also like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to the University of San Diego for inviting me to serve as an arbitrator for the runners. I am curious and eager to see the incredible achievements they will make in the future, and I look forward to our paths crossing once again.
As a young professional navigating learning about the field, I know firsthand the value of guidance and mentorship. So, I cordially invite anyone drawn to the discipline to connect with me if they need any advice.”
