Partner Shawn Shaffie Co-Chairs CLA’s Access to Justice Committee

Parker Shaffie is pleased to announce partner Shawn Shaffie’s recent designation as co-chair for the California Lawyers Association Litigation Section’s Access to Justice and Civic Engagement Committee.

The Committee on Access to Justice and Civic Engagement seeks to broaden access to the courts and justice system and help provide civic programs to educate the legal community about how to get involved.

Since 2019, the Committee has teamed up with CLA’s Civic Engagement and Outreach Committee to put on civics programs for elementary school classes in Salinas, and more recently in San Diego. During these Civic Engagement Programs, the Committee has been fortunate to secure the participation of prominent judges, and looks forward to co-sponsoring this program again, which will take place on September 22, 2023.

The Committee has also sponsored a Dialogues on Freedom program in Los Angeles (organized by the Los Angeles County Bar Association and Constitutional Rights Foundation), as well as participated in updating and augmenting a legal guide for parents and children entitled “Kids and the Law: A-Z Guide.”
