Shawn Shaffie Co-Chairs CLA’s Access to Justice Committee for Second Year

Parker Shaffie is happy to share that partner Shawn Shaffie will continue for his second year as co-chair for the California Lawyers Association Litigation Section’s Access to Justice and Civic Engagement Committee.
The Committee on Access to Justice and Civic Engagement seeks to broaden access to the courts and justice system and help provide civic programs to educate the legal community about how to get involved.
Since 2019, the Committee has teamed up with CLA’s Civic Engagement and Outreach Committee to put on civics programs for elementary school children, and has been fortunate to secure the participation of prominent judges, attorneys, and politicians.
The Committee has also participated in updating and augmenting a legal guide for parents and children entitled “Kids and the Law: A-Z Guide,” presenting on legal ethics, as well as co-sponsoring a variety of programs aimed towards benefitting the underprivileged and underrepresented members of our community.
If you’re interested in turning ideas into action for civic engagement and/or improving access to justice, this rapidly growing Committee presents an exciting opportunity to do so. The Committee also looks for unique opportunities to co-sponsor events with other BAR and community associations.
